Yes, there is more education and information coming your way about all these important tax topics that pertain to real estate and your property! Get your notebooks ready!
Capital gains tax is now a daily conversation topic that comes up among my clients who are selling property in this historically high value market. The prices in our local area have gotten so strong that tax implications are hard to avoid.
Therefore, it is more critical than ever to know more about how capital gains taxes are calculated on property you sell or plan to sell, whether you are selling your primary residence to make that all important move, or if you are selling a rental property you own that used to be your primary residence, or if you are selling a rental that has always been a rental, or a property you inherited from family.
This weekend, Tax Attorney Johan Deprez will be addressing these topics on a Zoom seminar from 10 am to 11 am Saturday March 5. More than 20 participants have already been sent the Zoom link and will be on – have you received your Zoom link? Do you want to receive it and learn some take home points with your Saturday morning coffee?
Whether you are one of my current or past or future clients, or a fellow Realtor or in the real estate business as a lender or title rep, don’t hesitate to join us! This impacts us all, as participants in this historic real estate market. And knowledge is not something we like to hoard – it is something at Team Nancy and Team Deprez we love to share! My hope is that the more we learn, the better we protect ourselves and uplift ourselves and follow a life closer to design than default.
And yes, following on the heels of this Capital Gains Tax Seminar on Saturday March 5 @ 10 am, we will be having the next one: 1031 Exchange! By Guest Speaker Leonard Spoto, Principal of the Asset Exchange Company Tel: 877-471-1031. Leonard is an excellent speaker and I heard him speak for the first time about 10 years ago when I started in the real estate profession, and learned all about this mysterious thing called 1031 Exchange.

- Understanding the mechanics of a Reverse or Construction 1031 Exchange and when it is a viable option
- How to get more time for your 1031 Exchange
- Using the homeowner’s exemption and the 1031 Exchange together
- How to complete an exchange when property is owned by an LLC, Trust or Partnership
- Related party transactions
You will learn a ton. Leonard Spoto is a founding partner of Asset Exchange Company. Leonard is a frequent keynote speaker and an accredited course instructor on the subject of 1031 Tax Deferred Exchanges.
